STEWARDSHIP COMMISSION:
"Stewardship - What I do with what I have when I believe in God."
- Archbishop Joseph W. Tobin
Stewardship is a way of life that acknowledges our dependence on God for all we have and all we are! Everything we have – our life, intellect, free will, family, friends, abilities, time, and possessions – is a gift from God! Stewardship is the grateful response of a Christian Disciple who recognizes and receives God's gifts and shares these gifts in love of God and neighbor. Stewardship is using our gifts of time, talent, and treasure to accomplish God's work.
"A Christian Steward is a person whose prayer leads to constant awareness that God is the creator of all blessings in life - spiritual and material. Good stewards are called to receive God's gifts gratefully, to cultivate them responsibly, to share them lovingly in justice with others, and to return them with increase to the Lord."
-USCCB 1993 Pastoral Letter on Stewardship
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace." (1 Peter 4:10)
St. Nicholas Stewardship Commission Goal - "The goal of the St. Nicholas Stewardship Commission is to create a connection between the parish and every parishioner by educating parishioners and providing them with opportunities to grow spiritually, intellectually, and practically in the Catholic faith."
St. Nicholas Parish offers parishioners the blessings of Mass and the Sacraments, numerous opportunities for spiritual devotion and growth, and a variety of parish ministries to serve the parish, the community, and others.
