HERITAGE PROJECT UPDATE as of 12/7/18
1. The East and west hallway walls have been laid up with block. A tent of plastic was built to allow block layers to continue to lay blocks in cold weather and rain.
2. The east and west walls have been grouted which is filling complete concrete block cells with sloppy concrete. This gives the wall strength by filling the entire cell from top to bottom every 3 feet and installing rebar in the cell after filling.
3. The elevator shaft was laid up in block and grouted on Monday, Dec. 3rd.
4. Clean up of the entire pad started on Tuesday, Dec. 4 with removal of all cement block not being used.
5. The mason part of the project will be completed after the steel building is up and under roof.
6. The north wall has had a drain tile run around and covered up with 4 feet of gravel.
7. 1 load of steel was delivered on Tuesday, Nov. 27 which wasn’t due until Thursday, Nov. 29.
8. 2 loads of steel were delivered on Thursday, Nov. 29th.
9. 2 loads of steel were delivered on Friday Nov. 30th.
10. The siding was delivered December 6th.
11. We experienced an electrical problem the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 27th when the campus lost one half of the power to anything that used 220 volts. The lead burned off at the transformer. A larger lead was installed and all is well.
12. The 3 phase power installation along St. Nicholas Drive has been moved up and begun on Monday, Dec. 3rd and to be completed within two weeks. This was requested due to the age and increasing noise coming from the phase converter for the lift station. When the 3 phase power is installed overhead to our campus, the lift station will be switched over to 3 phase and the phase converter will be removed and the liability of the phase converter will go away.
13. Future electrical changes: combine the 3 lights on the outside of the hall to be fed from 1 breaker. This frees up 2 breakers needed to supply power using an outside disconnect for B & G equipment that needs charging each night. Lifts, booms and engine heaters.
14. On Wed., Dec. 5, scaffolding was erected on the church side of the north wall to accommodate working on the outside of the north end of the building.
15. On Monday, Dec. 10, steel parts for the pre-engineered building will be staged on the floor of the first floor.
16. The week of Dec. 10th, parts of the uprights of the steel building will be stood up and secured. A crane will be in the week of Dec. 17th to swing the large steel into place. At that time all foot traffic will be barricaded from passing too closely to the fenced in area.
